This new home was designed for high energy efficiency and has been certified by the Passive House Institute US. The house maximizes efficiency with super insulation, orientation, efficient lighting and appliances along with many other strategies.  This all electric house uses a ground source heat pump for all heating and domestic hot water.  Photo-voltaic panels (PV) will offset the house's very low energy demand, and it is projected to operate at net zero energy use. In addition to its efficient use of energy, the house was constructed with environmentally respectful materials, and no to very low V.O.C finishes.
